# How we check our facts

Every fact on Public Works Pay comes from the Department of Labor, SAM.gov, a state labor department or the statute itself, and every page shows the date we checked it. The Public Works Pay team writes the pages, re-checks them every quarter and corrects them when a form, a rule or a portal changes. No lawyer has reviewed the pages, so nothing on the site is legal or payroll advice.

## Where do our facts come from?

Primary sources only: the WH-347 and its instructions, the Code of Federal Regulations, the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, SAM.gov wage determinations, state labor department pages and forms, and state statutes on the legislature’s own site. We don’t take facts from payroll companies, software vendors or law-firm blogs.

## How are pages dated?

Each source on a page lists the date we last checked it. A page’s “Updated” date is the most recent of those check dates, and the same date is in the page’s structured data. A date only changes when someone re-reads the source.

## What happens when we can’t confirm a fact?

We leave it off the page and track it as an open item until we can confirm it from the agency’s own source. A page with open items stays a draft and isn’t published.

## How often are pages re-checked?

Every page is re-checked against its sources every quarter, and sooner when the Department of Labor revises the WH-347 or a state changes its form, its portal or its deadlines.

## Has a lawyer reviewed these pages?

Not yet. No page on Public Works Pay has had legal review, so the pages explain the published rules and aren’t legal or payroll advice for anyone’s job.

## How do you report an error?

Email hello@publicworkspay.com with questions or corrections. We correct confirmed errors and update the page’s check date.
